2009 Colorado Real Estate Commission Update
4 hours of Colorado REQUIRED CORE Continuing Education

Colorado real estate licensees must complete 24 hours of continuing education every 3 years by the license anniversary date. The 24 hours must include a minimum of 8 credit hours of Colorado Real Estate Commission (CREC) Annual Update Courses (two 4-hour courses).
This course is the official 2009 Core course and is designed to protect the public by having licensees understand the provisions of new laws, rules and Commission approved forms and the applicability to brokerage practice and real estate transactions. This law update is intended to highlight these changes and summarize the most current status.
Objectives:
- Define the Warrant of Habitability and how it is used in rental leases
- Recognize the changes in the Broker Disclosure to Tenant Form
- Describe the roles of Qualified Intermediaries and what makes the use of one so risky
- Summarize the rules of conservation easements and the tax deductions which go with them
- Define short sales and explain the process
- Identify the difference between short sales and loan modifications
- Describe the Colorado Foreclosure Protection Act and how it helps homeowners
- Outline the Colorado Foreclosure Process and identify the new changes to the procedure
- Recognize new and revised forms and use them appropriately
- List the best resources for consumer and licensee information
- Discuss the latest changes to licensing management and continuing education requirements
